Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Emus never fail to raise a smile and this one, with his mad party-goer look, is no exception. We all certainly need as many smiles and boosts as we can get to buoy our spirits as we enter this second Covid Christmas. With parties and longed-for get-togethers with loved ones and friends either in jeopardy or made impossible by closed borders, each of us has to draw on our creative resources to find new ways of celebrating. For me the total absorption that painting provides means that I can lose myself for hours in whatever world I choose to create. So in the heat of a Queensland summer I can conjure up a White Christmas snow scene or even transform our amazing native wildlife into wild party-goers. Thank you to everyone who supported and encouraged my art this past year. Wishing you a wonderful year ahead in 2022.
