The sudden death of the respected and loved Kingaroy optometrist in a road accident earlier this year has been a great loss to everyone who knew him. Malcom's interest in and dedication to his patients was outstanding. His painstaking attention to detail and concern for the well-being of those of us who were fortunate to be in his care was remarkable. I wanted to honour the memory of Malcom and in this portrait I've attempted to bring out his joyful, lightness of spirit, the twinkle and humour of the man. It is on display in the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery during December.
