Happy Valentine's Day! May you spend it with those you love and who love you. I hope you spend it doing things you love. I'm spending part of mine painting watercolours. This one is called "Together". Part of the fun of this magical medium is juggling the different characteristics of various pigments and surfaces and watching how they interact together. Balancing cool and warm colours, choosing to paint on a rough or smooth paper, deciding which combinations will create the strongest contrasts. Contrast, harmony, balance - a bit like relationships between people - often hard to get right, but when you do - ah, the magic and joy it brings!
