Aspire!

This ballet dancer seems to be reaching for the stars as she gazes towards the spotlight. It often feels that way with watercolour painting, as you aspire to put on paper the concept you have in your mind's eye. It's also an apt way of describing what happens when you make the hard decision of which paintings to put in an exhibition. Although all aspire to be included, only those I consider the best make the cut and some get relegated to the waste paper basket! I felt this dancer deserved to go on stage this time and be part of the show. She will be appearing along with seven other of my watercolours in the aptly titled 'Showing Off" exhibition being staged by Jumping Ant Arts group at the Kingaroy Regional Gallery during November.
