Moonlit

I'm having great fun experimenting with a new technique, using hot pressed paper and lashings of paint, wet-in-wet. Here's one of the results: "Moonlit". It's so easy to get in a rut and play it safe, always producing the same kind of work, using the same materials and methods that have worked before. But the true excitement of watercolour comes when you unleash it and let it work for you, producing unpredictable results. At first, working in this way is a bit like riding freewheel down a very steep slope - everything feels out of control and you're pretty sure you're going to crash! But if you can overcome this fear and have confidence that you will be able to pull it all together in the end, it's exhilarating and you may end up with great results! And if you don't, try again - it's only a piece of paper after all!
