Remember

I love sending and receiving greetings cards. An email, a text or a Facebook greeting is, of course, nice to receive, but in my book it just doesn't have the impact of a hand-written card. When you receive a card you know that someone has not only remembered you, but also taken the time and effort to choose something that they think you will like - something that might make you laugh, or touch your heart or contain an image meaningful to you. Then they have gone to the trouble of writing a personal message in their own hand-writing, which is so much more intimate than cold computer fonts! Perhaps they have then had to organize a trip to the post office, buy a stamp and put the card in the mailbox. All of this communicates that you have been worth all that effort, time and thought. So, I may be old-fashioned, but I still send greetings cards. That's why I enjoy choosing some of my watercolours to have printed into cards. It's fun to try and imagine the different occasions they might be suitable for and the different types of people they might be sent to. Here is one of my latest card designs: "Remember". It was inspired by a lady who liked my cards and asked me if I had any of elephants, as she had a friend who liked and collected elephants. Do you have someone you would like to remember? A hand-written card is a great way to show them that you care.
