Sometimes a girl just has to reach for the pink paint! Recently I've been painting quite a few Australian magpies. They are frequent visitors to our garden and I love the way they throw back their heads and sing together. They are fun to capture in watercolour and it is a challenge to represent their glossy black and white coats in various dark shades. But after a while I found my brush was thirsting for the brighter pigments in my palette. What could be brighter or better contrast to black and white than Opera Pink!
