Only two weeks to go till the Annual Watercolour Society of Queensland exhibition at Mt Cootha Botanical Gardens in Brisbane ! Here are labels all ready to stick on the back of the paintings I shall be exhibiting. This time I'm taking three miniatures, four framed and five unframed watercolours. Thinking up titles is an enjoyable part of the creative fun and I believe that finding one that really fits the image is important. It's as if each watercolour has a true name, known only to itself, that I have to discover. Some titles just feel right. Of course when people buy a painting and hang it in their home they don't put the title label next to it, or at least I don't think they do! Perhaps the title springs to mind whenever they look at it, or maybe they give it an entirely different name. I shall never know! The exhibition runs from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd September.
