This watercolour of a barn owl is one of seven of my paintings that will be on show at the Kingaroy Art Gallery throughout April as part of the "Autumn Antics" exhibition of the J.A.A. group.

I love barn owls. With their silent flight, deep-set eyes and heart-shaped faces, they seem mysterious and magical creatures. When we lived in rural Wales they used to nest in our barn and at dusk we would often see them wheeling around the front yard. One day we saw three baby owls perched in the Scots Pine Tree like Christmas decorations! Barn owls are found on every continent of the world except the Antarctic. The Autumn Antics exhibition opens at 10 a.m. on April 1st and runs until the 29th of April.
